Several supermarket chains are removing various types of egg cakes from the shelves because they may contain metal. It concerns egg cakes from Albert Heijn, Coop and Plus.
Albert Heijn sells Brabant egg cakes with and without raisins (best before 30 January), spelled egg cakes and mini egg cakes, which can be stored until 3 February. At Plus, it concerns free-range egg cakes, which can be stored until 4 February.
Coop warns against the raisin egg cakes, white egg cakes and free-range giant egg cakes, which can also be kept until February 4. A piece of iron wire was found in one of the cakes.
The supermarket chains are calling on people not to eat the products, but to bring them back to the store. Customers can get their money back there.
