Colruyt
The Colruyt stores open half an hour earlier on 23, 24, 30 and 31 December and therefore welcome customers from 8 a.m. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve the shop closes at 6 pm, on other days the stores are open until 8 pm. On Saturday, January 2, 2021, the Colruyt stores will remain closed, because staff members will be given an extra day off that day.
Delhaize
Delhaize also opens its doors earlier in the run-up to Christmas and New Year. On Wednesday 23 and Wednesday 30 December, customers can already go shopping at 7 a.m., one hour earlier than normal. On that day, the shops have the traditional closing time at 8 pm. On 24 and 31 December, customers can do their shopping from 7 am to 5 pm, so that employees can also sit down at the festive table on time. 34 Delhaize stores will be open on Sunday December 27 and Sunday January 3.
Carrefour
The supermarkets of Carrefour open their doors on Sunday 20 December between 9 am and 7 pm. Between Monday 21 and Thursday 31 December, all stores open their doors at 8 a.m., which is an hour earlier for some stores, and the usual closing time applies. On December 24 and 31, the shops will close at 5 pm.
Aldi
The Aldi stores will maintain their traditional opening hours of 8:30 am on December 24 and 31. The shops close two hours earlier that day, at 5 pm instead of 7 pm. That way, the staff can also get to the party on time.
Albert Heijn
At Albert Heijn, the usual hours are also in force during the end-of-year period, but on Christmas and New Year’s Eve the doors close at 5 pm.
Lidl
At Lidl, they also welcome customers on Sunday 20 and 27 December, to offer them the opportunity to spread the shopping in the run-up to Christmas. On December 24 and 31, the shops are open from 8.30 am to 5 pm.
Jumbo
The Jumbo stores are open extra on Sunday 6, 20 and 27 December. On Wednesday 23 and 30 December they open at 7 a.m. and stay open until 8 p.m. Also on 24 and 31 December they open at 7 am, but on those days they close at 6 pm
Bakers, butchers and caterers
Many local food stores are also opening extra this month. The self-employed organizations do not ask you to place your orders too late this year, because more orders are expected this year. Because everyone has to celebrate in small groups, there are more separate orders than when we celebrate Christmas in large groups. So keep that in mind.
