The Dr. Víctor Hugo Hurtarte library, of the Superintendence of the Financial System, was reopened this week by the head of the institution, Evelyn Marisol Gracias, during an event attended by the Secretary of Commerce and Investment, Miguel Kattan and the Vice Minister of Culture , Eric Doradea.
With the reopening of the library, the Superintendency makes available to Salvadorans a specialized space in which they will find information and documentation on supervision, banking supervision, and related topics.
Superintendent Evelyn Gracias defined the reopening of the library as an important achievement that contributes to the consolidation of financial culture and education for Salvadorans. “This reopening is a reflection of this institution’s continued commitment to excellence and financial transparency”he emphasized in his speech.
Secretary Kattan celebrated the initiative that comes to comply with the modernization strategies that President Nayib Bukele projects for State institutions, with decent and quality public services for all.
The SSF library modernization project was also recognized by the Vice Minister of Culture, Eric Doradea, who highlighted the importance of these spaces for promoting research and the search for knowledge. “From the Ministry of Culture we support these initiatives through the exchange of knowledge for good library practices,” he said.
Among the new features of the SSF library, the space for temporary art exhibitions stands out, which has been inaugurated with an exhibition of paintings by the Salvadoran artist Fernando Llort.
The library has an open shelving format, making more than 2 thousand titles available to the public in printed format and a thousand in digital format that can be consulted by external users through an online catalog. The room has 60 functional study spaces with computers so that users can carry out research and consultations effectively.
