Superhot VR review bombed after the possibility of self-harm inside the game was removed

An update was released earlier this week super hot VR which means that all possibilities for the player to inflict damage leading to death on himself have been removed. The opportunity to, among other things, shoot oneself in the head or jump from rooftops was removed because the developers think we live in sensitive times. They also apologize for leaving these scenes in the game for so long.

“Skip disturbing scenes’ toggle was added in a previous update. Considering the sensitive time we’re living in, we can do better than that. You deserve better. All scenes alluding to self-harm are now completely removed from the game. These scenes have no place in Superhot virtual reality. We regret it took us so long. We’re committed to shipping this update to all VR platforms.”

The reaction to this was not particularly positive and at the time of writing the game is being bombarded with reviews by angry players. Worth mentioning is that only the VR version of the game has been updated.
