London (ots) – Brazilian soccer legend and style icon Neymar Jr. signs a three-year global deal with Superdry. The focus is on sustainable fashion. It starts with a collection of underwear and nightwear made from 100% organic cotton.
The partnership marks a milestone in the history of Superdry and marks a strong start to the year 2021 for the company. The message is: sustainable fashion for a global target group. Together with the football legend and style icon, Superdry wants to further promote its sustainable vision for the future of fashion. Superdry has set itself the goal of using only pure organic cotton for all cotton products by 2025 and is already supporting 20,000 farmers in India in converting to organic farming as part of its Grow Future Thinking initiative, which the brand is nominated for for the Drapers Sustainable Fashion Award 2021. A jury of industry experts presented Superdry with the Positive Change Award in recognition of its sustainable performance.
In an interview at the campaign shoot in Paris, Neymar Jr. underlined the importance that working with Superdry has for him. “When Superdry approached me and I found out more about their sustainability goals, I felt honored to be a part of it. Superdry stands for comfort, which is really important to me personally, especially when it comes to nightwear and underwear.” Neymar Jr.
Last but not least, CEO and brand founder Julian Dunkerton is responsible for the progressive thinking in the company, who says: “Neymar’s passion for change for the better complements our goals of manufacturing sustainable products, protecting our planet as well as possible and many people to support everything we do. ” Dunkerton, who was nominated for the Soil Associations Organic Ambassador Award in the context of the Best of Organic Market (BOOM) Award for his commitment to sustainable brand development, further explains: “Superdry wants and will take important steps towards progressive change to promote more sustainability. With many exciting projects and initiatives, we want to create better conditions for the future of future generations at Superdry. ”
