Kadetten-Kriens – this poster was already something special in the last playoff final. And nothing has changed in the new season. The first meeting in the Supercup final in Ambrì is a hot one. There is a final phase in particular that will not be forgotten any time soon.
One after the other. During the 60 minutes, Schaffhausen and Kriens were evenly matched. In the opening phase, Pilipovic shone several times in goal for Schaffhausen. But the HCKL did not let itself be left behind. Even after the Oranges’ 27:24 in the 50th minute. First, Kriens fought back to 27:27, then Luca Sigrist even took the lead to 29:28. Luka Maros then secured extra time.
And this is where things get dramatic. 90 seconds before the end, Best Player Odinn Rikhardsson makes it 35:33. The decision? No. The Central Swiss team shorten the lead again, have possession of the ball and have a chance to make it 35:35. The ball doesn’t want to go in – but there is still a lot of excitement at the final whistle. What happened? The Kriens team complains about one too many Kadetten players on the court and calls for a penalty. After minutes of discussion, the referees stick to their decision. So the Kadetten triumph in a highly emotional Supercup final with 35:34 after extra time.
For Schaffhausen, it is the 17th (!) Supercup title in the club’s history. Pfadi follows in third place with three triumphs. For the HCKL, it would have been the first Supercup title ever.
