Next Friday, Nintendo will release a new exclusive game for the Nintendo Switch, a Nintendo Switch remake of a beloved classic called Mario RPG that was released in 1996 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
Nintendo has now released a 5-minute long trailer for Super Mario RPG. In this so-called overview trailer, Nintendo tries to briefly cover all key features of the game within a few minutes, including exploring levels, the story, combat, RPG mechanics, party members, unique skills of characters, improvements compared to the original, cinematics, mini-games and more.
In 1996, Nintendo and JRPG experts Square-Enix teamed up to develop Super Mario RPG for the SNES. The game was well received and a success, but no sequel, remaster or remake was ever released. Nintendo wanted to make all Mario projects in the sequel themselves. After a lot of demand and gamers who had given up hope, Nintendo suddenly announced last summer that there would be a full-fledged remake of Super Mario RPG. In this game, playable characters Mario, Peach and Bowser go on an adventure to repair the Star Road.
Fans won’t have to wait long to get started with Super Mario RPG. The game will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch from November 17, 2023. Super Mario RPG is most likely Nintendo’s last big game for this year.
