22 characters from all over the Mushroom Kingdom – more than in any previous Mario Party game – are ready for the festival. There are 7 game boards to choose from in Mario Party mode, including 5 new game boards and 2 new versions of classic game boards from previous Mario Party games. Players can enjoy Mario Party mode locally with friends or online with players around the world.
Characters also appear on game boards every now and then as Jamboree Buddies. Sometimes they show up for a short time, so be quick to say hello to them before anyone else. Jamboree Buddies will help players with special abilities such as copying objects from opponents when you walk past them, increasing the steps on your dice roll, and even giving players the ability to buy two stars at the same time.
Grab your Joy-Con controller to experience three new action game modes including Paratroopa Flight School, Toad’s Item Factory, and Rhythm Kitchen. Players can challenge each other and cooperate with other players around the world in a series of Bowser challenges including Koopathlon and Bowser Kaboom Squad.
Trek Planner-Party mode can also be enjoyed on its own. In this game mode, players can freely move across 5 different game boards and play mini games to set up the party. Collect Mini Stars, complete quests, and more on your way.
