There Super Mario Bros. Movie was and is a complete success for Nintendo, breaking milestone after milestone. So far it has “only” been shown in cinemas. Going to the cinema is not for everyone, many are also waiting for the start of home cinema.
There are now specific dates for this. The Blu-ray and DVD versions of the film are available for pre-order for a long time* so we’ve known for a while that you can buy the Super Mario Bros. movie on disc on June 22nd. Among other things, there is a Limited Steelbook Edition!
However, the start of the streaming services is a bit earlier. While there will be some streaming in the USA starting tomorrow, May 16, 2023, we still have to be patient.
The digital release in this country will take place on June 8, 2023. You can already see the film on services like Prime Video pre-order digitally*. The HD version will cost 13.99 euros, the SD version will cost 11.99 euros and for UHD you will have to shell out 16.99 euros. There are no rental options with Amazon Prime Video.
It is not yet known whether the film will also be available as a subscription to a local streaming service, i.e. without additional costs. The biggest chances are probably given to Sky/WOW, but that remains to be seen.
