This year’s Super League Championship is one of the most exciting in the 65 years of the First National/Super League, perhaps the most ambiguous and interesting “title battle” in Europe this season, with four contenders for the title, out of a total of 14 clubs , to make a highly competitive route.
The competition “matches” between them in the regular season of the Championship had less importance, due to the range and the rest of the matches that determine the standings of the regular season. Now, however, in the “closed” Championship of the Playoffs, there is great weight in every result. But let’s look at small conclusions that emerge from the analysis of the statistical data of the games between them in the regular season of the Super League, but also in five of the twelve derbies between them that have been held so far, up to the 4th matchday in the Playoffs.
In the special derby standings of the regular season, AEK is at the top, having not lost in six matches and collecting 12 points with three wins and three draws. PAOK and Panathinaikos are in second place with perfect balance of results, after they had two wins – two draws – two losses and closed the regular season with eight points in the derby. In between the matches there was a PAOK victory in Toumba and a draw in Alexandras Avenue.
Olympiacos with a derby victory, this one over PAOK in Toumba with 4-1, did not get any points at home in the derbies among the four, while away from home they had one win – one draw – one loss.
In the twelve matches of the regular season of the Championship, there were four footballers who scored three goals in the derby, El Kambi from Olympiacos, Levia Garcia from AEK and Despontov and Thomas from PAOK. At the top of Panathinaikos’ scorers was Geremeyev with two goals.
In the special standings of the derbies that have been held in the Playoffs, up to the 4th matchday, Panathinaikos with two wins is at the top, followed by PAOK and AEK with four points, but with the Kitrinomavros having three derbies and PAOK two. Olympiacos has two defeats in two matches, one at home against Panathinaikos and one away from AEK.
Overall, in the general standings with the derbies that have taken place so far in regular season and Playoffs, AEK has collected 16 points, followed by Panathinaikos with 14, PAOK with 12 points and Olympiacos with four points.
Panathinaikos and PAOK have scored 15 goals each, while the Greens also have a 3-0 (no match) win over Olympiakos at the Karaiskakis stadium and their coefficient reaches 18-13 in goals.
The worst defense belongs to PAOK with 16 goals, while 14 have been conceded by Olympiacos, which has a total coefficient of 9-17, due to the 3-0 a.a. with Panathinaikos at the Karaiskakis stadium.
In the battle of scorers in the derby between the four contenders in the Playoffs, Fotis Ioannidis enjoys the top spot with three goals, until the 4th matchday. Bernard, Eliasson, Pontense and Despontov with Thomas are the footballers who have scored in a derby between the contenders in the regular season, but also in the Playoffs.
We also remind you of the tie criteria in the Playoffs/Playouts: In the event of a tie between the teams in the Playoffs and Playouts, then for the tied teams, the ranking criteria, in order, are the following:
-The total number of points collected by each team in all matches of the Championship (during the Regular Season and Playoffs/Playouts combined).
-The goal difference that each team has between tied teams again in all matches of the Championship (during the Regular Season and Playoffs / Playouts combined).
-The position occupied by each team among the re-tied teams in the Regular Season of the Championship.
