The Super Cup trophy in basketball ended up in the hands of Olympiakos, for the third year in a row. The “red and white” defeated Panathinaikos in the final with 86-85. At halftime, the score was 45-38. The match took place in the packed indoor stadium of Kallithea in Rhodes.
Olympiacos led 21-14 thanks to the accuracy of Tyler Dorsey, who started with 4/4 3-pointers. The “red and white” kept the lead throughout the first part and reached 41-33 with the first basket of Sasha Vezenkov. In Saturday’s semi-finals, Panathinaikos eliminated Aris with 81-68 and Olympiacos had a much harder time eliminating Peristeri with 79-74. The two “eternal” will fall into the deep waters of the Euroleague next week.
