The Commodity Trade Supervisory Agency (CoFTRA) of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has also stated that Sunton Capital is illegal. This is because Sunton Capital is not registered with CoFTRA.
Acting Head of the Bureau of Legislation and Enforcement for CoFTRA, M Syist, explained that Sunton Capital utilizes the trading robot mode.
“For the mode, there are those who use trading robots and all kinds of things. This is also one of the trading robots which is currently also booming quite high,” he told detikcom, Seni (18/10/2021).
About how it works, he can not say much. Because, it is currently being studied by CoFTRA. Even so, his party has combed and blocked the trading robots.
“Trading robots, CoFTRA, according to the direction of the Head of CoFTRA, we have started from January, we have started combing, we have blocked many, so every month we do the blocking. They use outside brokers,” he explained.
“We blocked this trading robot through the Communications and Information Technology. The main reason is because it trades Indonesian commodity futures without fulfilling the statutory provisions in the field of commodity futures trading,” he continued.
In a note from detikcom, Investment Observer and Practitioner, Desmond Wira admitted that he had investigated one of the commodity futures trading platforms (PBK) that used the trading robot mode. Without mentioning details, the platform uses trading robots to cheat with a member get member aka Ponzi system.
“To provide an advantage at the beginning, they use a ponzi scheme or money game,” he told detikcom, Tuesday (28/9).
With the money game scheme, the platform is still able to survive and continue to expand its network. However, it is only a matter of time, because there will be a point where the perpetrators will no longer be able to dig the hole to cover the hole to pay the investors’ profits.
