Sunny days with high radiation are present in the climate of Quito | Ecuador | News

The Inamhi forecasts high temperatures during midday. One recommendation to protect yourself from UV rays is to wear light colored clothing.

Cold mornings and cloudy skies were no longer a constant in the Quito sky. Since the month of July began, the climate of the capital has presented days full of sun, with high temperatures, due to the beginning of the dry season.

In social networks people share photographs of the Quito landscape and its surroundings, which can be seen during the day or at night when the sky is clear or with few clouds. For several Internet users this is the beginning of summer in the capital.

The forecasts of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (Inamhi) indicate that this July 5 the city will reach a maximum temperature of 24 degrees and a minimum of 6. From 4:00 p.m. light rainfall and from 22:00 the sky will be clear. During the early morning it will feel colder.

For the following days, between Tuesday 6 and Friday 9 July, Inamhi projects that the climate in Quito will be marked by sunny mornings and clear skies, with temperatures of up to 20 degrees. For the afternoons the presence of isolated showers is estimated.

Raul Parra, Inamhi forecast analyst, explains that the atmospheric setting is favorable to continue this climate, which is an effect of the entry of cold air from the south of the continent, which allows the atmosphere to dry out.

This phenomenon causes a drop in temperature in the early morning hours, occasional gusts of wind and high temperatures during noon, indicates Parra.

“At this time the rainfall decreases, but it does not stop raining. There will be periods when we have rainThis should not surprise us, due to the geographical conditions and microclimates of our country ”, the technician details.

High UV radiation

As long as the sun prevails in the mornings radiation levels will increaseespecially at noon.

Parra anticipates that tomorrow, July 6, in the Sierra region levels of between 7 and 13 points, which is in the range of high and extremely high.

In the case of Quito radiation is expected to reach between 10 and 11 points, that is, between high and extremely high.

In order to protect yourself from ultraviolet rays It is recommended to find the shade, wear glasses, a cap, sunscreen, wear long sleeves or use an umbrella.

Parra suggests dress preferably in light-colored clothing, since the black color tends to trap more radiation. (I)
