“Sunny Beach” is the 84th place in the prestigious ranking “Top 100 of the best beaches in the world”.
The search for the most attractive beaches for the “Golden Beach 2024” award is based on voting by travel influencers, tourism influencers and travel experts.
The Bulgarian resort overtook world destinations such as Varadero, Cuba, Bavaro, the Dominican Republic and the Bahamas.
The 6 kilometers long and nearly 70 meters wide sandy strip will welcome its first guests in just about 20 days.
“It is the first time that a Bulgarian beach has entered such a ranking. We are very proud of this prize, which we received thanks to our work”, stated the strip’s concessionaire Kiril Spasov.
The beach of “Sunny Beach” is also the winner of the “Blue Flag” environmental award.
In order to fulfill the criteria this year as well, the preparation started at the beginning of April. For the safety of vacationers in the active part of the season, there are 52 lifeguard posts, located 100 m from each other. The attractions are also part of the criteria laid down in the ranking, which ranked the beach in 84th place in the world.
