Sunday work: shops authorized to open until the end of June in around 40 departments – LINFO.re

Forty French departments have authorized work on Sundays for shops, until the end of June. The objective being to make up for the losses due to the last confinement.

“38 were applicable from the weekend of May 30”

Following the instructions of the Minister of Labor Élisabeth Borne on May 10, the relevant ministry indicates that consultations “are in progress or have been carried out in 76 departments”, and “40 prefectural decrees authorizing a derogation from the Sunday rest have been issued“. But also, as reported 20 Minutes, “38 were applicable from the weekend of May 30”.

In some departments, like Tarn, no order was taken at the end of the consultation, this is due to the unfavorable opinion of the social partners. The ministry recalling that all the counterparts provided for by law on the sidelines of Sunday work “must be granted to the employee, both with regard to volunteering and salary compensation and in terms of compensatory rest”.
