The Prefect has decided, at the request of professional organisations, to authorize the opening on Sundays July 16 and 23 of retail businesses in the municipality of Marseilles which do not already benefit from such authorization.
In addition, retail businesses that do not benefit from a system allowing them to derogate from the rule of Sunday rest and which are located within the McArthur Glen Provence outlet center located Village de la Péronne in Miramas will be authorized to open. Sunday July 30.
This opening will be done in compliance with the rights and compensation, for employees, provided for by the labor code and specified by the prefectural decree published today.
The purpose of this Sunday opening is to compensate for the decline in activity and turnover suffered during the urban violence which led to preventive and/or premature closures of shops during the summer sales period.
