Online platform instead of red carpet: This year the Sundance Film Festival will be a virtual affair. From January 28th, viewers from all over the world can follow the festival’s offer. “Our vision for this year’s festival was guided by the independent spirit of the artists in our community who, despite the immense challenges of 2020, continue to make and share bold, uncompromising stories with us,” says Tabitha Jackson in her first year as Festival Director.
Festival Village moves to the Internet
Usually the event takes place in Salt Lake City and Park City in the US state Utah instead of. Despite the new appearance, friends of the festival should recognize numerous elements. Among other things, Main Street and the Artist Lounge are moving to the digital Festival Village. The program includes four film premieres by indigenous filmmakers from Canada, New Zealand and the USA. In addition, freely accessible special events and discussion groups will take place.
