WNBA Champion Morgan Tuck Takes the Reign as General Manager for the Connecticut Sun
Uncasville, CT – The Connecticut Sun are embarking on a new era, appointing four-time UConn National Champion and WNBA champion Morgan Tuck as their new General Manager. This move signals a passing of the torch within the organization, as Darius Taylor transitions to the role of Chief Basketball Strategist and Director of Scouting.
A familiar face to Connecticut fans, Tuck played her first four seasons in the WNBA with the Sun after being chosen third overall in the 2016 draft. She was instrumental in the team’s success, culminating in a WNBA championship victory with the Seattle Storm in 2020. Tuck’s journey came full circle when she joined the Sun’s front office in 2021, initially serving as Director of Franchise Development before progressing to Assistant General Manager. Now, she ascends to the top leadership position, solidifying her impressive trajectory within the organization.
"Morgan is a rising star in this industry," Taylor stated. "Watching her grow into the front office executive she has become has been nothing short of amazing. Her career has come full circle with the Connecticut Sun organization. I know she will be instrumental in propelling this organization to its fullest potential."
Taylor, who joined the Sun just two years ago after extensive experience with the Atlanta Dream, will leverage his expertise in a new capacity. He will focus on developing strategies for the expansion draft, guiding roster management and free agency decisions, overseeing scouting operations, and providing valuable insights to elevate the team’s overall basketball operations.
The Sun, under Tuck’s leadership, are poised for an exciting future. Her intimate understanding of the game, combined with her innate leadership qualities and passion for the Connecticut Sun, promise a bright and competitive chapter in the team’s history.
