(NYSE: SLG) today unveiled plans for Summit One Vanderbilt, an immersive, story-driven observatory experience located in the crown of One Vanderbilt, the new tower that defines the horizon in the heart of Manhattan 1,401 feet tall. It will include an enclosed glass elevator called Ascent traveling around the exterior of the building to breathtaking views towering 1,210 feet above the city of New York. Adventurers will also enjoy hanging out in completely transparent glass boxes called Levitation exiting the building and suspending guests 1,063 feet above Madison Avenue. The Summit It features a beer garden, seating areas to enjoy the magnificent views and the highest outdoor urban alpine meadow in the world.

Design : Snøhetta designed the interior of Summit One Vanderbilt as a sensory urban experience that lifts visitors to heaven. Open to Manhattan, the state-of-the-art observatory and cultural space was designed as a journey through light, sound and art with views of the five boroughs and beyond. The project builds a series of interconnected experiences that begins in the vaulted rooms of Grand Central Terminal, and the journey from the station to the sky culminates in Summit One Vanderbilt. The team reinvented the urban experience of New York like this bold new cultural space in the city, bringing people together through a series of elevated spaces.
