“Summertime – invites Inese Galante” festival has enriched Jūrmala’s cultural life for seventeen summers, offering high-quality performances by world-class artists and allowing new talents to shine. This summer, too, I am pleased that we managed to delight friends and fans of the festival with great concerts and powerful performances. Let’s meet in other projects of the “Inese Galante Foundation”, let’s all support young talents together, continuing to cultivate the Latvian music field and allowing strong young artists to unleash themselves,” says festival muse and patron Inese Galante.
On the final day of the festival, three talented young musicians performed at the “Young and bright” concert in the Small Hall of the Dzintari concert hall. Saxophonist Ilva Ešenvalde won the second place in the Wind Instrument Playing category in the 2022 “Talents of Inese Galante” competition. At the “Young and bright” concert, Ilva together with concertmaster Sanita Glazenburg played the composition “Imprompt and dance” by Eugène Boca and “Sonatas of the Scattered Bird” by Takashi Yoshimatsu.
