On Thursday, July 13, domestic celebrities gathered on the terrace of the “Aston Hotel Riga” restaurant, to remember the brightest moments of the “Summertime – invites Inese Galante” festival over the course of 17 years, enjoy musical performances and celebrate love in an afternoon of musical talks.
Inesi Galanti, thanks to the presence of her friends and closest people at the festival, felt a very family feeling on this day: “You feel at home, because many years have been spent together. It is clear that the number is much higher, but those who could and managed, we were able to meet with them today and talk about what awaits us in the month of August,” says Inese Galante.
According to the organizers of the festival, six concerts are included in the “Summertime – invites Inese Galante” program this summer. Latvian virtuoso pianists Andrejs Osokins, Reinis Zariņš, Daumants Liepiņš and Aurēlija Šimkus will perform at the opening concert on August 10. On August 11, Shantel, the king of Balkan rhythms, will make an energetic party. In the afternoon of August 12, the audience will be joined by Ines Galante’s “Viva Amore” concert, where guests will be the star of the Metropolitan and La Scala opera houses, the Ukrainian bass Alexander Tsimbalyuk, while on the evening of August 12, the jazz performer, multiple participant and laureate of the Sanremo Festival, Italian Eurovision star Rafael Gwalacci. On August 13, saxophonist Ilva Ešenvalde, soprano Inna Kločko and violinist Andrejs Yegorovs will perform at the “Jaunie und spožie” concert. The festival will end on the evening of August 13 with Úta Lemper’s mono-performance “Meeting with Marlene”, which was created after the actress’ three-hour phone conversation with the legendary Hollywood star Marlene Dietrich.
“A gift for those who love and respect us – from July 14 to 23, everyone who buys two tickets pays for one! It seems to me that it is a very good, correct and necessary gift today, because our festival will be held in this format for the last time,” the patroness of the festival reveals significant changes.
Inese Galante admits that she has always dreamed of making Latvia’s name known all over the world: “Not everyone can drive around and run after every star – I wanted to bring it all to us, when the idea of the festival was born 21 years ago. Everyone wondered – from where, what, please? Ah, Latvia! Started looking for where it is. Now, no one looks back for a long time and wonders – where is such a small land with so many talented people!”
If you do what you know, love and give to others, you don’t need anything else.
Ines Galante is especially grateful to her daughter Diana, without whom the festival would not have been endowed with world-class elegance for more than 10 years: “Diana once promised to help me for two years, but despite her work, where she worked both in a film studio and with Hollywood stars and models all over the world, she returned to Latvia and brought the elegance and beauty of the world so that not only the ears, but also the eyes had something to see and remember.
As a doctor, I will say – it is like an injection of vitamins, love and positive emotions. Let there be peace and health, we will fulfill everything else,” says the patroness to go to the festival “Summertime – invites Inese Galante”.
