Offenbach (Dpa) – The last weekend in October brings Germany once again with truly summer temperatures: the German Meteorological Service (DWD) predicts up to 27 degrees in the coming days. Also, there are blue skies in many places.

“October is really recovering on the home straight,” said a DWD meteorologist in Offenbach on Thursday. The reason for this is a high over Eastern Europe and a low over the North Atlantic, which allow an “unusually warm air mass for the time of year” to flow from Spain to Germany. The highest temperatures will be reached on Friday and Saturday on the northern border of the low mountain ranges, in Baden-Württemberg and on the border of the Alps with a maximum of 27 degrees.

However, the values are not record-breaking: the highest temperature ever measured in Germany in the last third of October is 28.6 degrees and was reached on 26 October 2006 in Emmendingen-Mundingen (Baden-Württemberg). “In all likelihood, this value will be missing,” the forecaster said. From 25 degrees, meteorologists speak of a summer day.

At the moment it is not clear how long the outdoor time of the brewery can last. According to the DWD, temperatures are likely to drop slightly in the next week – with “16 to 21 degrees, however, it’s still too mild for the time of year,” the forecaster said.
