Summer Vibes in the Baltic Sea: Gatis Mūrnieks & Horens Stalbe Collaborate on Reggae Song ‘Dari, dari’

In autumn, songwriter and singer Gatis Mūrnieks and Horens Stalbe, a member of the “Riga Reggae” association, reminded us of summer by recording a joint song “Dari, dari”, set to sunny reggae rhythms.

The author of the song’s music, Gatis Mūrnieks, originally intended to name it “Near”, but after the “Latvian Bob Marley” Horens Stalbe was invited, the song was given a new name “Dari, dari”, inviting people to realize their dreams.

The video of the song was filmed at sea on the yacht “Crazy Daisy” near Pāvilosta, and in general, this whole event will stir the flavors of the Caribbean in the Baltic Sea sauce. “The song tells about the fact that being around and supporting each other is the best way to make us feel better. When the other person is feeling sad, the best thing to do is to come and be there. It’s that simple, but it has to be done,” explains Gatis.

“I’m very happy to agree to collaborative projects – whether it’s Linda Leen or ‘Singapore Satin’ or now Gatis,” laughs Horen. “With my contribution to the song, I wanted to say that talented people live all around us, but often they don’t have enough courage to assert themselves. I think it’s better to do it and make a mistake than to regret for the rest of your life that you didn’t even try. In addition, this is my close musical diversion reggae, and the main idea of reggae is to express love, empathy, compassion, to defend social equality. With the help of this genre, you can talk about serious and deep things in a light form.”

The song was produced in the studio by Gints Stankevičs, the video was made by Kaspars Rudzītis (Dween Productions). Experienced sailor and captain Ronalds Griškevičs in the role of yacht leader.
