GOMARINGEN. The spring/summer program at the VHS Gomaringen offers around 20 events and 62 courses. In addition to proven courses, there are some new ones such as power fitness for everyone and Pilates with a focus on the back, both on Wednesday evenings. New additions to popular evening courses are morning courses, such as Kundalini yoga with Katja Haas on Tuesday mornings and “70 plus – exercise in the morning” with Angela Eißler on Wednesdays. Bettina Casabianca’s »Sketching inside and outside« course on April 8th and 9th is new in the creative area.
In the program of lectures on Tuesday, February 22, Lothar Rieger from the police in Reutlingen will explain the current scams and tricks used by scammers and give tips on how to defend yourself against them. He is supported by those affected, who report from their own experience of the pressure they were exposed to from telephone scammers. On Thursday, March 10, Stefan Krmnicek, Professor of Numismatics at the Archaeological Institute of the University of Tübingen, will speak about Roman coins and what they and their discovery sites tell us about the lives and times of their former owners.
On Tuesday, March 15, in the Generation plus forum, Ellen Noetzel from AK Lebens im Alter reports under the title “The right to a bit of happiness” about how everyday life can be shaped when living with people with dementia. The gynecologist Dr. Ruth Mayer in the health forum on Thursday, March 23rd.
The cultural offerings will open on Saturday, February 19, with the Nürtingen guitar ensemble and the women’s choir VocaBella with a joint concert in the Gomaringer Kulturhalle. There is also comedy. Marianne Schätzle will be coming to the palace on March 11 with her program »It’s like that« and on Friday, April 8, the Tübingen women’s trio Dreiklang will be guests with their music cabaret »Die schon wieder«. Dietlinde Ellsässer invites you to a special »theater walk« through Gomaringen’s corridors on April 3rd and May 8th. In cooperation with the library, there is a detective story evening with Edi Graf on Friday, May 20th.

On June 19, the reading “So chatter to me” with Marlies Grötzinger, Olaf Nagele and Roland Single, moderated by Friedel Kehrer-Schreiber and accompanied by music by Hans Spielmann, will be made up for. The popular picnic concert with the Big Band of the Steinlach Youth Music School is back in the program on Sunday, May 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the terrace of the Kultursaal. To celebrate the beginning of midsummer, the group Sväng will come to the castle courtyard with Scandinavian folk music on Saturday, July 2nd.
Together with the Tanzetage, the VHS invites fans of the “Green Island” to the castle courtyard. On Sunday, July 17th, the duo Klaus Zeh & Adeline will play Irish folk and read appropriate poetry and stories. The conclusion of the summer semester is the summer cinema in the courtyard of the castle on Thursday, July 28th, in cooperation with the library.
Outdoor fans also get their money’s worth. The outdoor workout course, functional training in the fresh air, begins on Wednesday, April 27th. Together with the Albverein, the VHS invites you to “Yoga and Hiking” on Sunday, April 24th. Maria Asal presents »Historical Round Dances« on Saturday, May 21, in the courtyard of the palace when the weather is nice and in the Citizens’ Hall when it rains. And for all those who don’t just want to dream of flying, there will again be a taster day for paragliding in cooperation with the 1st Parafly Club in Swabia on Saturday, June 25th.
There is also a lot on offer for children. During the carnival holidays, Marlene Barth is offering the »Printing without a printing press« workshop for children between the ages of seven and twelve on Thursday, March 3rd. On Sunday afternoon, March 6, the Ätschagäbele clown theater is coming to the Bürgersaal in the castle with its current play »Niemando?«. New is a yoga course for children from Friday, March 11th, with Andrea Neugebauer. “Art is good” is the motto again during the Easter holidays. Ines Dulay-Winkler offers a varied children’s creative course all day long. (vh)
