Every summer it is remembered by the different donor organizations: summer is the greatest period of shortage of blood supplies, due to the vacation period and the disconnection from routine life for many. However, blood donation is necessary “every day”, as the Foundation for the Altruistic Donation of Blood and Plasma in Spain (Fundaspe) that during these summer months organizes the Red Summer Olympics by facilitating taking the donation points to the street with their buses.
Within the framework of this campaign, the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Leóncall the donation in a marathon who will organize the next Friday, July 14 at the Reino de León Shopping Center, located in the neighborhood of La Granja. There will be the mobile unit of the Hemotherapy and Hemodonation Center of Castilla y León in the morning and afternoon – from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. The bus will be located in the parking lot of said shopping complex, next to the ring road.
With campaigns like this, Fundaspe remembers that “Illnesses or accidents do not take vacations” and that “red blood cells, plasma, platelets, bone marrow, stem cells and everything that has its origin in blood donation, is essential in therapies and services for oncology, leukemia, lymphoma, childbirth, organ transplants, surgeries, anemia and other types of health problems.
