The summer semester at the universities in Berlin begins digitally. As a result of the new federal-state resolutions to contain the corona pandemic, the existing restrictions in the operation of the universities would be extended until April 24, the Senate Chancellery and the State Conference of Rectors and Presidents of Berlin Universities (LKRP) announced on Tuesday evening. In order to be prepared for mandatory presence formats, the universities would establish procedures for carrying out corona tests.
In addition, it said: “Exceptions can only be allowed for already planned face-to-face exams, including entrance exams, as well as for practice formats that are absolutely necessary and cannot be carried out in digital form.” In these exceptional cases, a maximum of 25 people are allowed in one room for examination purposes. “Participation is voluntary for students, there are no disadvantages if you do not participate.”

University employees whose activities do not necessarily require a presence on campus remain in the home office as much as possible. The universities will be closed to the public until April 24th.
