“Summer of Cuba Libre” enchants almost 2000 guests – with video

The “Summer of Cuba Libre” (SOCL) has been resurrected. What a show was offered on Friday evening in the Haidlfinger Volksfestzelt (Dingolfing-Landau district). The audience came in droves, danced to the band “Notausstieg”, and was impressed by the fire-breathing and the Brazilian dancers.

The atmosphere in the marquee on Friday evening was tropical. SOCL chairman Julian Fechter was delighted and amazed at how popular the event still is. After a 13-year break, the team invited people to the festival grounds with a tropical program. Around 70 members of the association had worked hard and organized beforehand. With the support of the rural youth and many other helpers, they ran the event on Friday and made sure that the guests felt right at home.

The area was fenced off and only adults were allowed in. The older generation was also well represented, many still remembering the good old Cuba Libre days up until 2010. In the end, there were probably around 2,000 guests this year, estimates Julian Fechter.

The band “Notausstieg” kicked things off and attracted audiences from far and wide with the title “Bavaria’s best beer tent band”. The program ranged from current chart hits to rock and pop classics to well-known hits and hits. The band around singer Silvia got the guests dancing early on.

But it was about to get even fierier: a fire-eater got the audience going with his show, blowing clouds of flames into the air. But the temperatures rose again with the “Viva Brasil Samba Show”. With this, the SOCL team continued the tried and tested traditions. The show was founded in 1996 by Eliana Silva-Knapp. Since then, the group has become popular and well-known in Europe through tours, media, radio and television. Bartender Mike Dötzer offered the guests not only drinks, but also a show.

Enchanting dancers from Sugarloaf Mountain danced on stage in exotic costumes to Latin American rhythms, fantastic capoeira acrobats enchanted the guests with their tricks. The dancing continued until late into the night to dance music from a DJ.
