Spectators at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas got their money’s worth since after the double overtime between the Heat and the Grizzlies, it was the Jazz and the Mavericks who came out after, too, a second overtime.
Clumsy on this part (42% shooting), Utah relied on Trent Forrest (16 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds) to end the festivities. But before that, the Salt Lake City team was not far from the road exit. At 3 seconds from the end of the match, it was Elijah Hughes who brought his family back on a long distance shoot.
We find the same Hughes two minutes later in the first overtime on the free throw line. The Jazz is then relegated to four lengths, the winger has three free throws about twenty seconds from the final siren. If he puts the first two, the third is missed. He takes it well since his teammate Udoka Azubuike (11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks) recovers the ball to finish strong.
The match therefore ended on a golden basket, and after exactly 12 seconds of play, it was Trent Forrest who ended the discussions with a free throw (81-80).
