Will we be able to move more than 100 km, return to theaters or restaurants from June 2? Responses expected this Thursday.
Edouard Philippe is preparing to unveil, after a defense council, the details long awaited from phase 2 of its plan
deconfinement launched on May 11.

Travel

Among the most sensitive subjects: the organization of summer holidays. “From now on, you can book your holidays for the month of July, for the month of August. For the month of June, we will clarify things during the week “,
declared this Sunday the Minister for the Ecological Transition Elisabeth Borne, specifying that it would be necessary to pass “rather in France”. In the firing line, the conditions for easing the ban on trips over 100 km in force since May 11.

Bars, restaurants and cafes

Restaurateurs and cafetiers will also know this week whether they will be able to reopen their establishments from June 2 in departments classified as “green”. There will be a “final decision towards the end of May to have a date for the reopening of cafes, restaurants and bars”, said Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire on Sunday, warning against any “rush” running the risk of a second epidemic wave.

To support establishments in great financial difficulty after five weeks of closure, access to the Solidarity Fund will be widened for hotels and restaurants to companies employing up to 20 employees and achieving up to 2 million in turnover , against 10 employees and 1 million in turnover for all VSEs. In addition, the amount of aid will be doubled to a maximum of 10,000 euros for companies in the sector in great difficulty.

Education

In terms of national education, the government should also decide this Thursday whether to reopen high schools or not and also decide whether or not to maintain the oral French for the baccalaureate.

Starting next week, schools and colleges – which have only reopened in the sixth and fifth green zones – are also expected to accommodate more children. According to the latest figures from the ministry, 20% of primary school students and around 30% of middle school students concerned have so far resumed, rarely full time. The priority is to be able “to allow as many children as possible to resume contact with the educational institution” before the end of the year, said one in the entourage of Minister Jean-Michel Blanquer. Especially to those who “need it most”

But for the moment the teachers do not see well what would open the floodgates: “We are waiting for scientific answers to know if the health protocol can be relaxed or not”. If this protocol is not lightened, ordinary school will not be able to resume before September, we recognize in the entourage of the minister. “The constraints are important but it is also the corollary of a return to safety, there is no relief planned in the short term”, decided Jean-Michel Blanquer questioned on Tuesday on LCI.

Show, cinema and leisure parks

The culture sector is also holding its breath, while Minister Franck Riester said this Tuesday that announcements would be made on possible reopening of performance halls in June and movie theaters in July. “My conviction, and I militate for that, is that we can at the same time gradually reopen the performance halls, theaters, provide gradually reorganize (…) a number of concerts including outside to allow artists to gradually find their audience, “insisted the Minister.

The question of the reopening of the amusement parks and its modalities should also be settled this Thursday.
