The first weekend of summer has arrived without complexes, with a burst of good weather, of sun and heat. This Saturday, during the day, in most of Galicia and in the seven main cities thirty degrees have been reached or exceeded. In points inside the provinces of Ourense and Lugo, the barrier of 35 has even been exceeded. The most extreme record detected by MeteoGalicia so far this day is from Leiro, in Ourense, with 37.3.
From this entity they also indicate that the temperature map showed how many of the thermometers on the Atlantic coast, especially in the province of Pontevedra, did not drop below twenty degrees in the early morning of San Xoán. In short: apart from the heat of the cacharelas, a part of the Galician territory experienced a tropical night, as had already been announced.
He domingo will provide a respite to the community, with a drop in temperatures, both minimum and maximum, a drop that will be noticeable especially in the latter, with an oscillation of between three and six degrees compared to the previous day. This is due to the fact that the warm air mass from Galicia will be withdrawn slightly. The day will start with clouds and there will be morning mists inside. The Ourense capital will once again be the city with the highest forecast, since a maximum of 34 degrees is expected. At the other extreme, A Coruña, which happens to have a ceiling of 23.
On Monday Galicia will continue under the influence of high pressure. The thermometers will reach records very similar to those marked on Sunday. Yes, there will be more compact clouds to the north of Lugo, an area in which some slight precipitation can even be recorded early in the day.
On Tuesday, a dry day is expected throughout Galicia, with high pressures extending from the north of the Azores to the south of the British Isles. The temperatures, in principle, will continue to be maintained at levels similar to the two previous days with Ourense and Pontevedra above thirty degrees. The wind, from the north, will have strong intervals in the sea in the Fisterra area.
It will be on Thursday when the anticyclonic situation will weaken and instability will arrive in Galicia, with the possibility of precipitation for the weekend.
The rest of Spain
Temperatures will continue to rise this Sunday in the rest of Spain. It is the first heat wave of the summer, with a total of 27 provinces from nine autonomous communities at risk (yellow) or significant risk (orange), and with maximums of 43 degrees, according to the forecast issued by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet ).
Specifically, the high temperatures will put Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Seville, Zaragoza, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Badajoz, Cáceres, Madrid and Cádiz on orange warning, which will also be on yellow alert due to waves.
The heat will also especially affect Teruel, Huesca, Ávila, Salamanca, Valladolid, Zamora, Albacete, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Barcelona, Girona, Lleida, Tarragona, Murcia and Valencia, which will have a yellow warning.
