HAS Stonestorninamany voluntary donors from the police and firefighters were welcomed by specialized personnel on board a blood bank of the Frates to donate blood.
The Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosiwho has always been close to the Donatorinati, also donated blood and reaffirmed the importance of spreading the culture of donation and the importance of synergy between institutions and volunteering. The Donatorinati association has over 6,000 volunteers among the police and firefighters, and every year around 400 young recruits get closer to the world of donation.
Since the beginning of the year, the association has organized about 240 collection days. In summer, the same amount of blood bags are needed as the rest of the year because the number of patients requiring transfusions, surgical interventions and emergency cases does not decrease. On the other hand, the availability of blood is decreasing in a worrying way, which can be guaranteed thanks to donations.
