Summary of the day: Pebble Beach premieres, Tiggo 9 for Russia and other business events

Court Porsche atelier Sonderwunsch, which deals with individual projects, brought a new model to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance Porsche 911 Accelerator 993 series. Porsche itself did not make speedsters based on the 993 model; only one such car was made in 1995 (now it is in the museum of the company), and the second copy was later converted from a convertible production on a special order. However, Italian designer and speed enthusiast Luca Trazzi approached Porsche with a proposal to create another special Speedster. The donor was the Porsche 911 Carrera RS coupe (3.8 l, 300 hp), from which experts made two bright yellow open seats.

Mercedes-Benz celebrated 130 years of involvement in motorsport at the Concours d’Elegance. The anniversary gift was a coupe track Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsportwhich sells 13 copies. Interestingly, it is based on the AMG GT model of the previous generation, although it has the “farewell version”. it was shown back in 2022. Now it has been announced that the anniversary version has become the last naturally aspirated GT3 model: a V8 6.3 engine with 680 hp is installed under the hood. Special features of the new version include a redesigned aerodynamic body kit and a checkered racing seat cover.

The Texas Hennessey company decided to conquer the challenging Pebble Beach crowd with a special hypercar Hennessey Venom F5 Stealth. It differs from last year’s Venom F5 Revolution model only in the special color of all the body elements: it takes at least 650 hours to apply all the covers to the parts by hand. The Stealth series includes only three cars – two coupes (green and blue) and one roadster (blue). Even the standard Venom F5 cannot be called cheap (over $2 million), and each of the three special copies was valued at at least $3 million. The company also reported that out of the planned distribution of the Venom model (99 copies of each version), 24 cars have already been delivered to customers.

The Californian show of automotive luxury did not ignore the JLR company, which brought a luxury SUV Range Rover SV Carmel Edition. Features include a special green exterior color, 23-inch wheels, two-tone leather trim in the same shades, and real gold trim. 17 of these cars will be made for American customers, and their prices are close to Rolls-Royces: at least 370 thousand dollars.

Unfortunately, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance was not without its loss. The trailer caught fire and the special concept car inside was destroyed. Ford Ghia Do an investigation 1979. The concept car was built by the Italian studio Ghaia on a Mustang chassis, it had advanced aerodynamics and a 2.3 liter turbo engine. Judging by the photos, it is almost impossible to restore the car.

Crossover announced Chery Tiggo 9 for the Russian market, which will appear here before the end of 2024 and will become the new flagship of the brand. But it is not Chinese that we reach under the upper table Come 9 (it is already sold here under the name Joan J8), and another car, which recently ended up in China as Chery Tiggo 8L. It is also built on the T2X platform, and the first version has a two-liter turbo engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. The features of the cars for Russia will be announced later.
