The first season of The Masked Dancer, the fun new spin-off of Fox’s The Masked Singer, began with five performances and a huge celebrity reveal.
Tonight The Masked Dancer premiered and turned out to be a fun follow-up to The Masked Singer. With the top five of the ten dancers this season showing off their moves, fans have already begun to guess which anonymous celebrities might be behind the masks.
The Office host Craig Robinson was joined by four famous panelists from the show. A familiar face to fans of The Masked Singer is Ken Jeong. Coming to The Masked Dancer after his own appearance on The Masked Singer is Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green. The panel is completed by two women who are not strangers to dancing. A dancer, 90s pop star Paula Abdul is the show’s third panelist. Last but not least is future mother and High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale.

The season started with some great clues about the masked dancers. Among them they have 38 million albums sold, 20 Emmy Awards, 23 world championship titles and 4 Olympic gold medals. While it can be challenging to identify masked dancers by movements alone, they have given fans an additional clue about the masked singer by allowing them to say a word, called “word up,” in their own voice. After her performances, the party ended for Disco Ball, who received the fewest votes and was unmasked to reveal the rapper and Law & Order: SVU actor Ice T.
HAMMERHEAD
Song: «Everybody» de Backstreet Boys
Tracks: The first visual clue showed a hamburger, a soup with the word speak written on it, grated carrots, and a cup of “Joe” coffee with a sugar cube. Hammerhead talked about getting famous too fast and how it felt great at first, but he soon began to feel like the best moments were behind him. He mentioned how he went from being who he was to who people wanted him to be. He was shown painting and surfing with a board with the letter “c” on it. Her costume looks like a lifeguard-style outfit and includes gold and silver grills and a gold chain that says Hammer Time. A clock was shown counting from 6: 01-05. There were also party tracks.

TULIP
Song: «Fergalicious» de Fergie
TracksImages included a ticking alarm, a cereal box labeled mini seeds with 11 vitamins and minerals, a Mount Laurel school diploma, and what appeared to be mac and cheese. There were clues showing the Glee club and the stunt club. She said her confidence collapsed after she was teased growing up. He was shown clicking the red shoes three times, as in The Wizard of Oz. She brought up stranger things and said that we’re all in this together while showing a rainbow.

CRICKET
Song: «Jump (For My Love)» de The Pointer Sisters
Tracks: Cricket said he never thought he would do a dance show. There were plenty of Las Vegas-themed tracks, including a jackpot of 90,210,000. He mentioned saying that he felt like he was turning punk. The number 12 was shown. She talked about love at first sight and thought she had hit the jackpot with her new love. He called them a powerful couple and said that he was his rock and she was his apprentice. Four aces were shown, as well as a winning x10 slot flip three times.

Song: «Uptown Funk» de Mark Ronson con Bruno Mars
Tracks: He said that people think they know everything about him. Visual clues included a bone with the letter ‘J’, a shark fin, a glass of iced tea, and a mallet. An eagle was also shown and made a military salute at his performance.

EXOTIC BIRD
Song: «Con Calma» by Daddy Yankee with Katy Perry
Tracks: There were visual clues including a clue, the number 17, a kick-off with a bang flag, a Venus fly trap, best for 2007 in an egg crate, cooking clues, and a broken egg. She said she had been attacked in the past for losing, for her relationships, and even for her size.
