Juan Marcelo Estigarribia, head of the Sedeco, announced this Thursday about a summary to a supermarket by Mariano Roque Alonso. Supposedly, this business marketed the defrosted meat, after packaging it again, but packaged with a clarification that the product was intended for animals.
Estigarribia clarified that this practice is not allowed by law either, so those who carry it out are exposed to fines of between 20 and 10,000 wages, and assured that defrosted and refrozen meat can also be risky for animals.
He claimed that there are several supermarkets that are apparently doing this practice. He warned that this is very risky for consumption.
⭕ Supermarket is sued for selling defrosted meat, says Sedeco.
🗣️ “We have opened a summary to a supermarket because they defrosted and repackaged. The inspectors ordered the withdrawal of the product.
