Continuing the good play, Italy made fewer mistakes at the end of the set and won the second set 25-19.

The national team made a good start to the third set, leading 6-3 and Italy’s head coach Julio Velasco had to take time out. Leading 12-9 midway through the set, the Stars and Crescents forced Velasco to take his second. The national team, which came to the 20s with a 2-point advantage (20-18), could not maintain this advantage. Italy, who came from behind and took the lead and continued to play effectively, won the third set 25-22 and the match 3-0, becoming the USA’s opponent in the final to be played on 11th August.
