Jakarta

Gerindra Party Politician Fadli Zon criticized Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 2 of 2022 which included the name Soekarno-Hatta but omitted the name Suharto in the general attack on March 1, 1949. The Governor of DIY, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono (HB) X actually questioned the criticism Fadli Zon.

“There is no polemic, for example, for example, the President and Vice President (Sukarno-Hatta) have been expelled. What activities have there been? Ngertine (knows there is no activity),” Sultan said when interviewed by reporters at the Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta Governor’s Office, as quoted from secondsCentral JavaMonday (7/3/2022).

The Sultan explained that from the explanation of his father, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX, he visited Sukarno-Hatta back and forth while in exile in Bengkulu. Of course, during the visit, HB IX also discussed security and political conditions in Jogja, which at that time was the nation’s capital.

“Understood, nek swargi (the late Sri Sultan HB IX) went back and forth to Bengkulu to Mr. (Sukarno-Hatta) what was the story? For example, you know,” he said.

The Sultan emphasized that he was open to the historical facts of the March 1st General Offensive with all those who knew or had heard of the story of this historic event. In fact, the Sultan ensured, encouraging all parties to be able to speak up.

“Yes, whatever, history does have findings. It’s normal, don’t be afraid. I really encourage it, everyone knows the story,” he said.
