Sukoharjo Regency Holds National Immunization Sub Week in Response to Polio Outbreak

Krjogja.com – SUKOHARJO – The Sukoharjo Regency Government held a National Immunization Sub Week (Sub PIN) in the context of dealing with Extraordinary Events (KLB) of Polio Veccine Derivated Polio Virus Type 2 (cVDPV2). The number of targets and vaccine allocations in Sukoharjo Regency is 93,840 targets aged 0-7 years and 4,419 vials.

“The estimated number of targets and vaccine allocation for Sukoharjo Regency is 93,840 targets aged 0-7 years and 4,429 vials,” said Head of the Sukoharjo District Health Service (DKK) Tri Tuti Rahayu, Monday (15/01/2024).

The Indonesian Ministry of Health also said that it was taking the best possible preparatory steps as follows, preparing microplanning and carrying out advocacy to regional leaders as well as outreach and coordination to religious leaders, community leaders, all related parties and the community in general. Ensure the availability of resources, including financing, personnel and other logistics needed through coordination with the Ministry of Health.

Tuti explained that the aims and objectives of Polio Immunization are to protect residents of Sukoharjo Regency aged 0-7 years from transmission of the Polio virus which can cause acute paralysis and can cause permanent disability by administering polio vaccine drops (nOPV 2).

The Sukoharjo DKK had previously carried out activities such as the preparatory stage in the form of target data collection with a total of 90,014 children aged 0-7 years. A total of 953 Sub PIN Posts have been prepared. (Mam)
