Sukmawati Soekarnoputri Decides to Change Religion, Here’s the Family Response

Jakarta

Daughter of the first president of Indonesia, Soekarno with Fatmawati, Sukmawati Soekarnoputri decided to change religion. The woman who was born on October 26, 1951 is rumored to be changing her religion from Islam to embrace Hinduism.

Sukmawati herself is a politician like her sister, Megawati Soekarnoputri. He is also a founder and general chairman of the Indonesian National Party.

He plans to undergo a religious conversion ritual in the Sukarno Center Heritage area in Bale Agung Singaraja, Buleleng Regency, Bali, on Tuesday (10/26/2021). The news of his conversion was immediately confirmed by the head of the Sukarno Center in Bali.

“Yes, that’s right. The event will be in Bali on October 26, 2021, next Sunday,” said the Head of the Sukarno Center in Bali, Arya Wedakarna, who is also the person in charge of the event, when contacted Friday (22/10).

Not only that, Arya also said that he was directly appointed by Sukmawati to help arrange the Sudhi Wadhani ceremony or the inauguration ceremony and ratification of the promise of someone who said he wanted to embrace religion Hindu. This promise must be made with a sincere and pure heart.

“So, we help and the preparations are good and later it’s just a matter of implementation. However, in principle, we will rename the Sudhi Wadhani ceremony to Hinduism,” he said.

The decision made by Sukmawati was not her own decision because of her selfishness or desire, Mother. It turned out that Sukmawati had already obtained permission to convert from her family, both children and relatives.

“Be it, the family of his sons and daughters are the main ones and also his brothers. Megawati’s mother, Rachmawati’s late mother, Guntur. Everything is in the process, so it’s just an event like that,” he said.

In addition, Arya also told that Sukmawati’s conversion to religion was her right to return to her ancestral religion. In fact, Sukamawati’s grandmother, Ida Ayu Nyoman Rai Srimben, comes from Bali and adheres to Hinduism.

“Because her grandmother Nyoman Rai Srimben from Singaraja is also a Hindu. So, she (Sukmawati) also wants her place not in Jakarta but in Bali. However, in Bali, the Great Hall is the place of her ancestor, Bung Karno’s mother, Nyoman Rai Sirimben,” he said.
