CIKOLE– Mayor of Sukabumi, Achmad Fahmi highly appreciates the Indonesian Muslim Labor Union (Sarbumisi) of Sukabumi City which has held a Declaration of Commitment for HIV/Aids Non-Discrimination and Peer Counselor training. This is because HIV/Aids management activities cannot be carried out by the government alone but need support from other elements.
“We really appreciate the existence of Sarbumisi. Because it is undeniable that the handling of HIV/Aids cases is a priority and needs support from the community, one of which is Sarbumsi,” said Fahmi after opening the Sarbumisi event at a hotel in Sukabumi City, Monday (29/11).
Meanwhile, cases of HIV AIDS in Sukabumi City have decreased every year. Even in 2021 the discovery of new infected cases amounted to 123. Of this number, about 60 percent of residents outside Sukabumi City.
“Yes, the case of Hiv Aids in Sukabumi City continues to show a decline every year. While the number of 123 is calculated from January to October 2021,” he explained.
Fahmi also targets that by 2030, it is hoped that Sukabumi City will have zero cases of Hiv Aids. For this reason, his party will continue to disseminate information about the dangers of Hiv Aids, as well as inform the public not to stay away from people who are confirmed to have the disease.
“Don’t be shunned if someone is infected with Hiv Aids. But stay away from the disease,” he said.
Chairman of the DPC K-Sarbumusi Sukabumi City, Yosep Pujianto revealed, if the activity was carried out for three days, and on the last day there would be a campaign and a test to the community.
“So this activity we provide training on the handling of Hiv Aids,” he said.
In this activity, continued Yosep, a joint declaration was made not to discriminate against people who were confirmed to have Hiv Aids.
“Hopefully what we are doing, at least can strengthen and strengthen the spirit of handling Aids in the city of Sukabumi,” he concluded. (ball)
