SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com – PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operational Area 8 Surabaya operates a suite class compartment train at Surabaya Gubeng Station on Wednesday (11/10/2023).
The suite class compartment train is attached to the Argo Semeru train connecting Surabaya Gubeng – Jakarta Gambir with a departure at 09.05 and arriving in Gambir at 19.40. Apart from that, the Bima train connecting Surabaya Gubeng – Jakarta Gambir departs at 19.20 and arrives in Gambir at 06.00 WIB.
KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Public Relations Manager Luqman Arif said that this operation was welcomed by the public.

Evidently, the Argo Semeru train’s suite class compartment train was fully filled on its first day of operation.
“Meanwhile, on the Bima train, the suite class compartment train has an occupancy rate of 90 percent,” said Luqman in Surabaya, Wednesday (11/10/2023).

According to Luqman, this suite class compartment train has 16 private rooms and each room has automatic sliding doors and dim lighting.
“Other facilities include seats that can recline up to 180 degrees and rotate according to the direction of the train’s travel,” said Luqman.
“The warmth level of the chair can be adjusted, and there is also an additional massage feature that can be adjusted according to your wishes,” said Luqman Arif.
He added that this train also has a train onboard infotainment system which accommodates customers to be able to play popular films, music and national television channels throughout the journey.
Customers are also pampered with food and drink services as well as various other special services.
“Overall, this suite class compartment train is the newest product owned by KAI, with various advantages which are expected to provide the latest experience for customers while enjoying traveling by train transportation,” he said.
This October, KAI is providing a promo fare for suite class compartment trains at a price of IDR 1,950,000.
“KAI is optimistic that it will get a warm welcome from the public and become the main choice for customers who travel long distances with a new nuance,” said Luqman.
