It may seem like Hogwarts Legacy took a lot of the gaming scandal earlier this year, but gamers will always have something to complain about, and the latest case to have them react is the spray-painting of an LGBTQ+ flag on a wall in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
In a clip posted by PlayStation on Twitter, the rainbow can be seen on a wall next to Batman. This immediately led to an outcry from some who believed they were being pushed an agenda.
“Just had to add that rainbow in there huh,” sounds one response mens another says “Is that a pride flag? Enough man.” There are also those who try to explain why a pride flag should not exist from a historical perspective, and a user argues that Gotham City is a place run by gangs and crime bosses, and that spray paint representing the gay community should therefore not exist. It seems that this user has not noticed that the game is set in Metropolis, and has not considered the possibility that there are LGBTQ+ people regardless of the level of crime in the city.
There are many reasons not to like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. I’m editorializing a bit here, but while the latest gameplay preview may have looked better than the one we got earlier this year, it still looks like a relatively bland loot shooter with unnecessary live-service elements. But somehow painting on a wall is worse than that. Imagine that.
