Islamabad –
Suicide bombing during the Prophet’s birthday celebration in Pakistan killed more than 50 people. The Pakistani government accused the Indian intelligence agency of being involved in this suicide bombing.
Reported ReutersSunday (1/10/2023), Pakistani officials have long accused India of sponsoring violent groups in Pakistan. However, India has always denied this accusation.
“Civil society, military and all other agencies will jointly carry out attacks against the elements involved in the Mastung suicide bombing,” Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti told media in Balochistan’s capital Quetta.
“RAW was involved in the suicide attack,” he added, referring to India’s Research & Analysis Wing (RAW) intelligence agency. He did not provide details or evidence of the alleged involvement of Indian intelligence.
India’s Foreign Ministry and government spokespeople did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
As previously reported, more than 50 people were killed and dozens of others were injured in two suicide bomb attacks in Pakistan during the celebration of the Prophet’s birthday on Friday (29/09).
The explosion occurred near a mosque located in southwestern Balochistan province, as people gathered to celebrate Mawlid Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.
Not only that, a second attack also occurred on Friday at a mosque in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack killed at least 5 people.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the two attacks.
Increased militant attacks in western provinces Pakistan has cast a shadow over election preparations and public campaigning ahead of national elections in January. However, to date these attacks have mostly targeted security forces.
The Pakistani Taliban (TTP), responsible for some of the bloodiest attacks in Pakistan since the group’s formation in 2007, denied responsibility for Friday’s blast.
