Suicide attempt rate skyrockets among teens in New York. How to detect symptoms | Univision 41 New York WXTV

According to a recent study conducted jointly by the University of Washington and New York University, a large number of teenagers have thought about suicide. In their sample, the pollsters interviewed more than 44,000 young students from traditional public high schools. The researchers then focused on the nearly 7,500 respondents who expressed some degree of suicidal thoughts, plans, or attempts and found that 3% reported attempting suicide without thoughts or plans. About a quarter of the 7,500 respondents said they had only thought about suicide; 38% said they had planned to commit suicide but did not attempt it, and 35% said they had thought, planned and attempted suicide.
