The KBS board of directors held an extraordinary board meeting on the 23rd and elected Suh Gi-seok (70), a former Constitutional Court judge, as the new KBS chairman.

On the 14th, the former chairman of the KBS board of directors, Nam Young-jin, was dismissed, leaving the position of the chairman vacant. The new chairman, Seo, was appointed as a KBS director on the 9th to replace former director Yoon Seok-nyeon, who was dismissed for suspicion of manipulation of scores for reapproval of TV Chosun. The KBS board of directors has so far chosen the oldest among the directors recommended by the passport as the chairman.

The KBS board of directors voted on the same day to elect a new chairman. Chairman Seo said, “I will do my best to ensure that KBS broadcasts neutrally and fairly.” After graduating from Seoul National University College of Law, and passing the 21st bar exam, Chairman Seo served as the Constitutional Court judge from 2013 to 2019 after serving as the chief of the Cheongju and Suwon District Courts and the Seoul Central District Court.
