Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama was the star of the Asia Talent Cup (IATC) race in Motegi, Japan. Starting from the back grid, the driver from Wonosari, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, managed to overtake 13 of his opponents.

Veda is back on the IATC track after the injury he suffered. The young driver was able to show his relentless struggle to overtake the riders ahead of him to finish in the top 6.

Weather conditions and times did not allow racing, making the third IATC series at the Twin Ring circuit in Motegi, Japan, which was supposed to take place with two races, only took place once on 25 September 2022.

The Vedas had to start the difficult race. He started from the nineteenth grid and got two penalties on the long lap. He received punishment for an accident with another driver during free practice 2.

The tenacity of this 13-year-old young man from Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta, can be seen since the starting light was switched on. Veda can start well to get closer to the front row. Although he had to take 2 penalties on the long lap, due to the consistency of his lap results, Veda slowly started to enter the top 10. He also continued to ride his Honda NSF250R support. In total he can inflate the 13 riders behind him and finish in sixth position.

“I faced a race that did not meet my expectations. Starting from the last grid coupled with the penalty of 2 long laps was certainly not easy for me. But I tried to keep performing as much as possible. After the start I tried to do it. getting close to not lose the group and I managed, slowly I managed to find a racing pace and I managed to enter group 2 until finishing in 6th position, it was a very meaningful experience for me, and all of these lessons will make me even stronger in the next series, ”Veda said.

Other Vedic colleagues have also shown their struggle in this breed. Diandra Trihardika, who had to adapt quickly due to changing weather conditions, had to be content with finishing the race in 12th position. Then Reykat Fadillah who started the race in 18th position, trying to keep getting closer to the leading group. He had filled 11th position, but Reykat was stuck in the third group and had to be content with finishing in 13th position, then Aan Riswanto, who had problems with his bike, finished in 17th position.

To achieve this third IATC series, Reykat Fadillah is in 7th position in the standings with 38 points, then Veda is in 9th position with 26 points, Diandra is in 12th position with 22 points, and Aan Riswanto is in 16th. position with 15 points. The next IATC event will be held at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand, from 1st to 2nd October.
