Announcing that she has been suffering from long-term COVID since December 2023, Laurence Jalbert told her Facebook followers on Wednesday that she would have to postpone all her shows and professional obligations until she gets back on her feet.

“I really did everything, tried everything to continue and respect my commitments, but last Sunday, I felt worse than the others. I finished my show telling myself that maybe I had gone too far,” wrote the 65-year-old artist, who has also suffered from fibromyalgia for almost 20 years.

A busy summer

The singer explains that with a summer including more than thirty shows and the production of a Christmas album, the hours spent on the road and traveling took their toll on her fragile health.

“I am a 65-year-old grandmother who started the profession at 16 and who admits to having asked a lot of her body,” she adds.
