He conveyed this in response to threats from the Chairman of Bappilu DPP Democrat Andi Arief who would evaluate support for Anies Baswedan if he did not announce his candidacy for vice president in June.

“At this point the team of eight is continuing to deepen their efforts to finalize the best time for the announcement of the vice-presidential candidate and the joint declaration. All options are being weighed plus and minus,” Sudirman told CNNIndonesia.comMonday (5/6).

Anies has a small team called Team 8. This team consists of representatives from NasDem, PKS, as well as Democrats and Anies. This team has a duty to help find and provide input for vice presidential candidates who will accompany Anies.

Sudirman understands that each party member of Anies’ coalition has aspirations, both regarding the cawapres option and the best time to make a joint declaration.

He also appreciated the aspirations of the Democrats to immediately make a joint declaration. From this effort, he said, he would increase confidence in the increased electability of Anies Baswedan and his supporting political parties.

“Team 8’s task is to bridge all these aspirations, which in some ways are not always the same,” he said.

Sudirman was grateful that an atmosphere of mutual trust was established by Team 8 KPP. For him, this condition makes it easier to communicate various matters of concern and aspirations of the parties.

Previously, Andi Arief said that the Democrats would evaluate their support for Anies if he did not announce his running mate in June. However, Andi did not explain what kind of support evaluation the Democrats would take in the future.
