TIME.CO, Jakarta – Acting head of DKI Jakarta Regional Owned Enterprises Development Agency (BP BUMD) Fitria Rahadiani confirmed the news of his resignation. Sudirman said from his office as President Commissioner of Transjakarta. “That’s right (resigned),” he said once confirmed on Friday, November 11, 2022.
Fitria said the approval of Sudirman Said’s resignation still has to wait because it was determined by the GMS decision. “But the approval will be determined through the GMS decision,” he said.
Previously, Sudirman Said was named President Commissioner of Transjakarta by former Governor Anies Baswedan in early 2022.
Sudirman Said is in charge of guiding PT Transport Jakarta or Transjakarta according to the Shareholders’ Decision (KPPS) to the extraordinary GMS to be held on March 18, 2022.
Additionally, Sudirman Said briefly served as BUMD PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Commissioner Chair on April 22, 2020 in the era of Anies Baswedan. He is also known to have close relationships with the former DKI governor. After Anies became a presidential candidate for the 2024 presidential election, Sudirman Said has often accompanied or represented Anies in many activities.
Sudirman Said and Anies had been ministers of Volume I of the Labor Cabinet during the administration of President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla from 2014-2016. President Jokowi deemed Sudirman Said to be the minister of energy and mineral resources.

Sudirman Said becomes the chief commissioner of Transjakarta
Sudirman Said’s name re-emerged after he was appointed President Commissioner of PT Transport Jakarta or Transjakarta.
The former Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources was appointed by shareholders at PT Transjakarta’s Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) at City Hall, Central Jakarta, on Friday, March 18, 2022.
Angelina Betris, interim head of PT Transjakarta’s Corporate Secretariat and Public Relations Division, said the transit company believes Sudirman will make more changes.
“It will make Transjakarta go even better. Welcome and good luck in your duty,” he said in a written statement on Friday, March 18, 2022.
Previously, the position of chief commissioner was held by Jaswandi, formerly of Pangdam Jaya and Wadanjen Kopassus. The DKI government also removed Beni Edmunandar from the post of commissioner of PT Transjakarta. Jaswandi and Beni have both been seated in the BUMD DKI commissioner seat since August 2019.
Betris, representing PT Transjakarta, is grateful for their contribution so far. “Pak Jaswandi and Pak Beni are great figures behind Transjakarta’s development,” he said.
Commission B member of DKI Jakarta DPRD, Gilbert Simanjuntak, criticized the results of EGMS Transjakarta. He assessed that Sudirman Said had no previous or work experience in the transportation industry. “The element of closeness stands out, because the background doesn’t support it,” he told reporters yesterday.
Gilbert doubts Sudirman can overcome all the problems that exist in DKI Jakarta BUMD given his zero background in the transportation industry. For this, he thought, Sudirman Said was only appointed because he was close to the governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan.
“How can you solve the problem quickly? How many more victims does Anies expect?” asked the PDIP politician.

He believed that the governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, had no sensitivity to the conditions or sense of crisis that occurred at PT Transjakarta. This is considering the numerous victims who fell due to the collision of the Transjakarta bus.
Gilbert also repeatedly stressed the appointment of PT Transjakarta directors who were not experts in the transport sector. “Indeed, there are those without experience and only as TGUPP (Director of Services and Development Achmad Izzul Waro) can they become directors,” she said.
Previously, the traffic directorate (Ditlantas) of Polda Metro Jaya recorded 17 cases of accidents in Transjakarta and motorcyclists in 2022. As of March 15, three people have died in the 17 accidents.
Traffic director (Dirlantas) Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said police are assessing the high number of incidents involving Transjakarta buses.

He explained that the councilor’s role, as required by law, is to carry out the supervisory and advisory function. In the meantime, transport management is entrusted to the directors of PT Transjakarta. “So, from experience, he is qualified to help Transjakarta friends by making Transjakarta even better,” she said.
Sudirman Said was previously named President Commissioner in another BUMD DKI, namely PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya.
