“Sudirman Cup 2023 Semifinals: China vs Japan and Malaysia vs South Korea”

Sudirman Cup 2023 have reached the semifinals. Duel China vs Japan and Malaysia vs South Korea present in this round to fight for a ticket to the final.

Japan advanced to the semifinals after overcoming fierce resistance from Thailand 3-2 in the quarterfinals. This match was presented at the Suzhou Olympic Sports Center, Friday (19/5/2023).

Tokuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi was the winner for Japan. They were able to beat Kittinupong Kedren/Dechapol Puavaranukroh in the fifth game.

At almost the same time, South Korea also succeeded in holding a ticket to the semifinals. South Korea is in the last four after defeating Taiwan in the quarterfinals 3-1.

Japan will meet the host and defending champion China in the semifinals, Friday (18/5). China itself advanced to the semifinals after frustrating Indonesian resistance. The Bamboo Curtain country won convincingly 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

The China vs Japan duel was a repeat of the 2021 Sudirman Cup final. At that time, China won after beating Japan 3-1 in the event which was held in Finland.

Meanwhile, South Korea is awaited by Malaysia in the semifinals. Malaysia successfully frustrate European champion Denmark.

Malaysia won 3-1 over Denmark. One of the points won by Malaysia was obtained due to Viktor Axelsen who retired when he met Lee Zee Jia.
