The incident happened at around 10:30 p.m. The balcony of a first-floor apartment on Kellerstrasse in the city of Lucerne collapsed. At the scene, Lucerne police found two injured people in an inner courtyard.
The injured people are a 56-year-old woman and a 62-year-old man. They were taken to hospital by the emergency services. “Luckily there were mopeds under the balcony that prevented anything worse from happening,” the 62-year-old told “20 minutes» continued. His girlfriend will probably have to spend the next two weeks in hospital.
The condition of the balcony has worried him for years. The other apartments with balconies have not been allowed to use it for some time. The wall also has cracks. “The administration must definitely do something, this is life-threatening,” the resident told the news portal.
